Boot catch won't close

Featured Replies

Can't get the boot to stay closed. It seems that the catch goes round the metal hoop ok, but won't stick there, so I am able to simply lift the boot back up with hand/fingers without needing to press the button/handle. Using the key to lock makes no difference whatsoever. Not sure quite what is going on. Would really welcome any info or guidance. I have already climbed in the back to check that the latch is meeting the metal hoop in the right place but again, the boot door can simply be pushed up without any effort.

Thanking you in advance

Dan

Is the handle stuck up?

try some spray lube and exercise with a screwdriver or similar

The lock hoop may have been bent /moved slightly.

had similar with swmbo's old 206 - someone was abit vigourous closing the boot one day and it twisted the hoop slightly. Would onl half catch. Just readjusted the bracket and all good.

worth checking as the allignment tolerance is tighter than youd think
