Induction

Featured Replies

Am considering going stage 2 on the vrs after my visit to shark today, what induction systems are the best value and preferably quietist

Thanks

Keep the standard airbox, induction kits lose low end torque. Spend the money elsewhere

I need one for stage 2 mate

I havent noticeably lost anything low end since I got mine fitted tbh. Get a bit annoyed with it being too loud at times tho. Might put standard back on for a bit. Didnt think you needed one stage 2 tho? I thought the only requirement was a dp?

I used to have the nuespeed p flow awesome gti sell, wasn't too loud just more dv noise and turbo whistle, it fitted well, was one of the cheaper ones too

You don't need a induction kit for stage 2 just downpipe and de-cat or sports car. One would be needed for stage 3. Just think the money can be used elsewhere like FMIC or HPFP.

I spoke to the lads at shark they said i could manage without the fmic but really need an induction ??????

After market air intake will give u no gains whatsoever, even on stage 2.

This especially on the tsi engines.

The tfsi will get some marginal gains.

Who am I to argue with a reputable tuner like shark, many people running stage 2 without induction kit. I am curious to what figures they can achieve without and with induction kit. I would say the difference wouldn't be that great. What engine u have tfsi or tsi ?

Custom induction, Honda S2000 filter

He has a tsi. I would just upgrade the panel filter

I put a car on speed I let and k an n panel

Has helped me but then I am only running stage 1

Induction kit will make almost no difference.  You are better off changing paper filters more often.

Is a 2009 a TFSI or the TSI?

If it's a TFSI then you are better off upgrading the HP fuel pump & cam follower.  Add a good downpipe and bob's your uncle.

I can't understand why anyone would fit a cone filter without heat shielding - too much hot air.

Its a TSI mate

Thanks Paul Brown

Just had mine stage 2 mapped at Shark, and they said i need a full induction kit to get to around 275bhp, this means from the Turbo to the filter.

My car has a front mounted cone, with head shield, and has been ducted from the front to allow air to it.

Shark told me this was not good enough, and that i had to replace the ducting from the Turbo, to the MAF.

if im honest i was skeptical, as induction kits make nearly no difference in the real world, if anything they dull the low end performance.

But who am i to question???

Im certainly not going to pay £250 for an APR stage 2 pipe!!

Im getting my car on the rollers in the next few weeks, and see what power (after stage 2 map) my car is making.
