Repairing scuffed black alloys

Featured Replies

As we come closer to deciding on a Monte Carlo I worry about the black alloys. We have them on our black edition Roomster and both front wheels have kerb scuffs. How expensive is it it repair them as I'm assuming a coat of something won't be enough? I prefer the black alloys with a silver edging, is this what the Citigo Monte Carlos on the continent have?

Any advice would be most gratefully received.

The black alloys with silver edging are the 16' optional ones (Serpens?) but not available on our UK configurator. The tires are quite a bit wider than the alloy wheels on the Citigo, so I don't think it should be a big problem. Have you looked at the different trims available on the SE L now?

Funnily enough I've just configured an SE L with sports trim to see what that would come out as. That might be the better option although I love the styling (both in and out) of the Monte I do also like heated seats! I'd like to see the Ivory interior and whether it looks ok or a bit old lady. I think the good quote was because they have a great black Monte in the showroom ready to go but those black alloys are bothering me.

I agree with fabandy above - the tyres protrude a little and protect the alloys quite well.

With all due respect, can't you just try and stop scuffing them? :)

Yes I really should!

If you love it and it's a good deal - go for it. The Monte looks great in black with the alloys and darkened rear lights and the black dash looks good with black door trim and red accents.
