Brake caliper rebuild kit part number?

Featured Replies

Hello all

Car info - 59 Plate FL Octavia VRS petrol.

So today I changed the front and rear brakes, all went fine following some great guides on here. One thing I did notice on one of the rears was the dust seal/ gaiter that goes around the piston was ripped and looks to have let the road muck in.

So my question is, is there a rebuild kit for these calipers with all the internal seals? And if so what are the part numbers and the best place to get them from.

I guess if I am going to do one, I may as well do them all. So if anyone could give me the part numbers for both front and rear that would be great!

Also I've never done this before (can you tell?) so are there any good guides around? Preferably with pictures.

Cheers

Rusty

I don't remember exact part numbers when I got mine but drop a message to these guys with model of your car and they will sort you out.

All you have to do is telephone any Skoda, Seat, VW, Audi dealer's parts department, give them your details and they should be helpful enough to quote part number.

I got mine from an Audi dealer for £20 and wrote a fitting guide somewhere on these forums.

Search away.

Thanks for that, I'll give them and the dealers a ring and see which works out cheaper for all of them! Got a good little video on that site too which is a bonus!

I've just found your guide on another post, cheers for that. Doesn't sound too hard to do.....

Rusty another option .... & somewhat cheaper parts http://brakeparts.co.uk/#!/ . Just replaced my NS/R caliper purchased from them, good service

That website I like.  I'm guessing BCK3843 on that website is the right one for a standard VRS caliper .....

Yep them's the ones, just ordered a set last night as I will be refurbishing the old calliper as the piston a bore are fine just needs new seals & a re-paint

Cheers Paulb64, I'll order some of them and give it a go!

Thanks for all the replies

Its not too bad a job, but I was replacing the whole calliper worst bit was removing the small brake pipe & then re-manufacturing  a new one ( a right pain in the arse !! )

Clamped off the flexi, removed calliper, used compressed air to push the piston out, careful as it comes out with some force !!! I chocked it with timber, once the piston is released it just pulled out.
