BLT Turbo Outlet Size

Featured Replies

Does anyone know off the top of their head the outlet size of a standard BV39 turbo on a BLT?

Specifically the outer dimension, so that a silicon pipe can be slid over the top.

You can't put a silicone pipe over that!

You need a converter to clip into the turbo first, then your silicone hose fits onto this :)

Airtec provide them in their FMIC kits so the pipes can connect up :)

Says it all.....

I suppose you could, but you would need some sort of reducer,or boost pipe work about 3inches diameter

I just dont see it being a problem thats all :D

I've always bought the correct couplings anyway, but like i say... i was tempted once!

The idea is to slide a silicon pipe over the top of the existing pipework and clamp it in place in order to strengthen the join as the connector on the turbo side is allowing the pipe to come apart, loosing all boost.

You can raise the little retaining parts on the standard coupling, just use a small screwdriver to prise them up slightly so the clip then holds the pipe better.

Mmmm, and people pay you to work on the cars?

Nope, only the odd person that wants work doing to a high standard.
