Morning all!

 

Seen this website after reading some top tips for Skoda's and decided to join.

 

Currently sat with no nails left awaiting the delivery of my Racing Blue, Octavia VRS Diesel Estate which I cannot wait for. Few extras added, front parking sensors, colour info screen, Sunset glass to add a personal touch. And the wife will want to drive it!

 

Had a test drive in both the manual and the DSG box cars and opted for the manual, due to thinking that the DSG box took some of the fun out of the driving experience.

 

Also had a bit of a wobble when the dealer confirmed I could have a new Superb Estate SE L Exec spec for the same money on a contract lease!!!!!

 

Decided to get my mid life crisis over and have 3 years of fun before dropping into the Superb later in life.

 

Will use this site for tips and thoughts on how to get the best out my VRS to enjoy it to the max.

Picked car up last Monday which was 10 weeks to the day of order placed. Love it!

 

Had a week of VRS mode and got about 40MPG and this week as back to work (mainly motorways) trying it in Eco mode - averaging 57MPG, which I imagine will only get better once car is run in a bit.

Couple of minor snags with car which i'll have to get used too:

* My left knee sits right up against the centre console due to my driving position and can hurt after a bit (tart, I know)

* Voice Activation will not and does not recognise a Scouse accent. its quicker to use the touch screen anyway I've found

* Fuel tank isn't that big and at best will only get 500-550miles out of a full tank

* Nothing else - its Ace
