Blow off valve

Featured Replies

Hi there can anyone please help me..i was thinking about buying a blow off valve..is there any advantages having this on my car and are they easy to fit ....cheers guys.... .

No, dont recommend them.  They interfere with the way the engine is supposed to work and are a maintenance hassle.

Cheers mate...is a recirculation dump valve ok to put on or is it just the same as a blow off valve...cheers

Th system won't like anything that blows off any metred air. If you MUST upgrade it just get an alloy recirc valve, it will increase the noise if that's what you're after, it won't do a fat lot else though.

Do not bother with one as long as the original one isnt causing issues.  They are more hassle then they are worth as they use a piston with rubber o rings which can fail rather tha the OEM valve which uses a maintenance free diaphragm.

Plus it's about having the right spring tension, tuning and servicing them. I had a 007 for a while, went back to standard in the end.

Cheers for the help..I'll leave it standard....

I have to admit, I bought a recirculating diverter valve, built of ebays shiniest chrome.....

leeked from the inlet side, PTFE taped solved it

leeked around the bolt flange, silicon sealant to the rescue

still leeks vacuum, not sure how i'm going to cure that, I trod on the standard one so i'm waiting for a better one to appear!
