TDI VRS Brake sets

Featured Replies

Could someone point me at some disc and pads sets.

I was going to look at bigger brakes but seem heavier.so i'd rather just some good disc's and pad's.

Around £200 mark.

Also any stories welcome....

Pagid sold at Euro Car Parts seem to get good reviews on here. I replaced all mine just under 4 years ago with Ferodo when Opie Oils was just starting to sell it and had a good promotion going. Can't remember the exact price off the top of my head.

As above pagid discs and pads from ecp. If you after stronger bite then ebc red stuff pads are a cheap upgrade

Whilst looking i came across these...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291589293764?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I have just renewed all brake fluid and it don't seem much better than before.

Yes im looking for that bit more.

Will grooved discs eat pads.I had some cheap grooved and drilled on another car...only thing that was good was brake dust, didn't seem to have much.

Think i'll end up with Red stuff pads and Pagid.

I have just fitted Pagid front discs and pads after a brake fluid change. Excellent firm feel to the pedal and good performance from the brakes. Also bought them from Euro Car Parts. I would certainly buy these again.

Pagid will be fine for road and "enthusiastic" use. Have had many sets without issue.

If you are looking for something more fast road then I suppose the Ferodo DS2500 or something along those lines would be worth a shout.

Ive just fitted a full set if mintex discs and pads from quality.car.parts on eBay. The discs are the new coated ones, £85 delivered and very helpful when you phone them with a question.

Can you post a link to their page, can't seem to find them.

Also after disc and pad set, ideally rear but know I will need to change the fronts too in the nexr future.

Had middle-of-the-road drilled discs with mintex high performance pads on front and rear for past 4 years.

On the whole are drilled and or grooved discs better than standard smooth discs? Is it really worth the upgrade?
