Octavia VRS Seats

Featured Replies

Hi there,

So i just bought me one of the cars i dreamt about owning when i was a little kid...an Octavia VRS

however the front seats (especially drivers) are a mess. The guy was big and fat and the leather has been properly scraped off.

Is there anyone who sells replace seat covers...which i can take to the upholster to be fitted?

I have the black and white upholstery...i really would like to make this right.

Thanks

It might be cheaper for you to get second hand seats from another Octavia/Golf/Bora than to have your seats re-upholstered with new foam.

Not so easy for me mate, I'm based in the island of Malta, and own 1 out of 3 vrs on the island. The foam is not in the bad shape, what I need is the leather covers, its as if someone scratched the things with sand paper, its a total mess.

Golf/Bora seats not an option either? I think other seats from cars of the same platform (A3/Leon) might fit as well, could be worth checking if you can find any. Are there no scrap yards that might have seats from accident damaged cars available? Have you looked into shipping used seats from elsewhere in Europe?

Have you tried contacting your nearest Skoda dealer?

Have you spoken to any upholsterers about making a new seat cover?

Give me a day or two I think I have a cover but I will need to see what it looks like. I'll get a photo and pm you when I do?

How's that sound?

the seat structurally is ok....the foam is good and all. no need to change it.

What is damaged is the fabric....hence why I need only the covers.

Once I have the cover I will get them fitted by my upholsterer.

The current state of the leather is beyond repair.

If my upholsterer had to make them from scratch, they would not be authentic plus would cost an arm and a leg.

re scrappers...its not the same like the UK. We do not have breaker yards. Once a car is deemed scrap its destroyed within 24hrs and sold for steel. - its actually against the law for the scrapper to sell parts! - environment policy we are a very very small island hehe.
