Rear caliper guide pins

Featured Replies

HI, Who ever had the rear pads off this car before me has nicely rounded off one of the rear caliper guide pins(bottom one, hardest to get at)..Bought new bolts but cannot get the bottom one out, Was thinking last resort, Demolish the guide/slide pin with a grinder to get it out and buy a new one. Phone local dealer to be told, Don't sell slide pin alone comes as part of a kit with caliper carrier which is £80!! At times like this i wish i hadn't bought a skoda  :swear:  :wall: Sorry, Rant over.........

At times like that you forgot about scrappy?

Oh yeah, Never thought about scrap yards, Now to find one that's got got an Octavia in around Sunderland

Loads on eBay. Hardest part is working out which VW part is the same. Most of the listings are for the Golf which uses the same calipers.

This is where a decent set of footprints (adjustable curved claw locking pliers) would probably help

Bigg red in Worcester might stock them.

They refurbish brakes and sell seal kits etc, so I'd imagine they sell the pins.
