Leak under driver's door

Recommended Posts

Hi my car has developed an unusual leak recently. During heavy rain, and when the car is parked on the drive at an angle (the driver's door being on the 'higher' side), water seems to be getting under the rubber seal along the bottom of the door, running over the sill and forming a puddle on the mat. The door has been stripped down twice in the last year (wiring loom then window regulator). I wonder if a drain hole in the door is blocked or the sealing strip is not sitting right?

Any advice appreciated

Thanks

It sounds like it's not draining correctly, so blocked drain hole would be the first thing I'd check. Water can collect in the doors especially when the car is parked on a slope, but it is supposed to drain out before it can overflow into the car. Try parking pointed the other way on the hill if you can and see if the leak disappears.
