Folding mirrors - anomaly

Featured Replies

We have just taken delivery of a shiny new silver 1.2 SEL and are just getting to grips with the differences from our trusty Octy.

One oddity is that with one of the key fobs holding the lock button down after locking the car gets the mirrors to fold, but the other key fob does not. grrrr!!

Any ideas why this might be? I can't find anything in the manual or the menus to help.

With the fob that doesn't work have you put in the ignition ,turned ignition on then off and then tried to fold the mirrors?

Each key only remembers the options set when that key was in the ignition... the other key needs to have its options set separately.  If it still doesn't work when you've checked what options are selected on that key, then there is a key fault and the dealer will have to be involved.

As far as I am aware the mirror folding ability is not an option that is different on the keys but it may just be possible that the key needs to be used to start the car if it has not done so.

If a window or windows are left open does the problem key fob close them with a long press on the lock if locking the car with them open?

Even for folding mirrors?.

I can't stop mine.

There is a setting in the Maxidot under Convenience / Window op. - this apparently has options for window closing/opening and can be set to 'off', 'all' or 'driver'. Maybe if it is not set to 'all' with a key then that key will not fold the mirrors?

Thanks to all who have replied.

The "odd" key has been used to start the car, and has the "Open all" set for remote windows, I will have another fiddle and if I can't get it to work will contact the dealer.

It is not the end of the world as one can fold them manually before getting out of the car, but irritating if you meant to fold them, say in a car park, and have to unlock ,put key in switchg on then manually fold.

Could it be something simple like the battery is almost flat in the 'rogue' keyfob, and it can't maintain a signal for long enough to close windows/fold mirrors etc?

Not that, car brand new, and I have now sorted it, see below.

Turned out to be related to the "Windows" options in the MFD settings.

I set it to "All" with the errant fob and it now works just fine. You might think that somewhere ion the manual it might mention that these two functions are linked?

I thought I had it set to "All", but it was in fact"Off" for that fob.
