Removing Paint Transfer from Plastic Trim

Featured Replies

SWMBO a while back decided to have a fight with a pillar in a multi-storey car park and lost, with her diddy Kia Picanto getting grazed down the front passenger door. The door will need a respray, but there's some white paint transfer on the plastic trim (see picture below).

Any ideas on how to remove it from the trim, or is it just a case of covering it up with some sort of dressing?

I have previously used WD40 sprayed quite liberally onto a cloth and used a fair bit of elbow grease and its come off.

Magic sponge should work

Have you tried claying the area? Should easily remove unwanted paint.

On the plastic; if it is persistent - a magic sponge as mentioned or pencil eraser may help also.
