Octavia Estate Dog Guard

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,  (I have said hi in the newbie bit)

Just a quick question and apologies if it should be somewhere else but.......

I have just purchased (pick up next week) a Mk 3 VRS estate, I've found a dog guard but it from a Mk 2 model, will it fit? It looks like it should do but before I buy I'd rather check.

Looking forward to using the site. Thanks for letting me join.

I think the answer to that is no - I installed official dog guard in MkII and left it there as just picked up a MkIII estate.  If it does fit probably won't be a tidy installation.

I believe drilling in roof liner is required for Skoda branded one so will give it a miss meantime and just have dog slobber on passenger seats...

BA Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I'm not sure its an official Skoda one, it certainly doesn't look like it needs drilling and the shape appears to be identical. I believe its a travail one.

I guess it may just be easier to pay the extra and get the proper one to be sure.

Thanks again

Ask travall, they may not want to tell you its ok but they will know for sure.

BA is right about the drilling for the skoda guard. I have a travall guard and splitter and cannot fault it.

Part number and it has a skoda sticker on it so I guess it must be original.

i have installed a Travall one in my car, no drilling required, can easily be removed in under 5 mins

I brought mine from skoda for my mk3 estate, no drilling attaches to the rear seat. Check the price on skodaparts.com. My local skoda sold it cheaper to me direct. It's the travel all one I think.

Don't know if the mk11 grill fits .I very much doubt it

The "proper" grill does require drilling the headlining and the boot trim (grill comes with templates)

BUT you also need a special tool to install

This is only available to dealers on loan from Skoda and only for avery limited period

I did manage to borrow it from my dealer as they needed it to install a grill in a Yeti

The tool is only required for these two models

I collected on a Friday and returned to the showroom on Sunday

I offered the guarantee that if damaged I would replace

The required holes are already in the metal bodywork so fitting is relatively simple once over the nerve-racking task of drilling the trim

The grill I fitted was from Superskoda Pt No 5E9071195 Again genuine Skoda part
