3 years on

Featured Replies

It's been a while since I last posted on here, but I thought I'd rear my head again.

It's just over 3 years since I got my Mk2 vrs, and I still love it. It's just had its 4th service and it's running as well as ever.

But...it's reaching that time where I don't know whether to scratch the itch for a change or stick with it. How are people getting on with theirs when they're outside the warranty period and does anyone have any advice regarding the PCP deals?

How has it been within the warranty period? Has it been a habitual user of the oil, or problem free?

I think by now you'd know if you had a good one. If you have, maybe keep.. if you haven't, get rid before it starts costing imo.

I'm now two and a half years outside the manufacturer's / Skoda UK warranty - you can always stick a Skoda extended warranty on it (buy online) to give you peace of mind in case something major goes pop.

I can understand the itch - I have occasional thoughts of changing but there's nothing out there (for the money I paid for the vRS) that appeals to me or suits me. Four and a half years into ownership I still look forward to getting the vRS out its kennel.

I would have kept mine forever if I could have afforded it (change of jobs/circumstance etc) ... no warrenty wouldn't have bothered me...

I think if you have a good one its good, if you have a bad one its bad! lol....

PCP? swmbo's citigo was on pcp.... she wanted an Abarth, found the one she liked... we talked about trade in, but they offered less than the settlement figure, so we simply phoned them and said "come get your car" ... left the pcp with nothing to pay , car went straight to auction. no hassle, no worries. the Abarth was bought with a loan, so she owns that ....

not at all.... it wasn't taken out as an HP using the car as capital..... the loan is nothing to do with the car , if she wants to give the car to me and then looses all her income the bank can **** off :P

Depends how you look at it.

It works alot of ways.

I did edit my previous post cos i decided it sounded abit ****ish. So i apologise for that. Wasnt intended that way.

Things dont sometimes read on here like youd like them to :D

meh, no stress this side mate :) have a glass of wine (and then don't go on ebay! lol...)

I've got a 11 plate vrs and sometimes get an itch to change it but it still puts a smile on my face after owning it for over 2 years. I've got extended warrenty on it but it's also modified to death. I think I will have it for about 5 years of so or until I want a wagon/estate ;)

Ive had mine 2.5 years. And I think it's cum for time to change mines will be going up for sale soon, even tho since the engine change it hasn't missed a beat. It runs amazingly well on a stage 1.5, I don't want to ruin it by going stage 2 and getting no traction. So it's time to sell for me

Nearly two years, treated it hard , sometimes I feel guilty, but it's been impeccable.

Will still be making way for a Cupra 280 next year though,

You never get any hassle in a vRS.

Didnt know youd got a job at a dealers ;):D

One job I could never do (admittedly the list is quite extensive!).

After 3 years here's my thoughts:-

1) Ugly

2) Noisy. Especially wind noises.

3) Harsh ride

4) Temperamental

5) Uses more oil than my local chippy.

6) A lot faster than she looks.

Not sure if I'm describing my car here or my ex-wife

Still love them to bits though - BOTH OF THEM
