Coil pack

Featured Replies

Are mk2 vrs coil pack common for failure.

Not that i'm aware of.

It's normally plugs that fail.

Ok cheers I have had a misfire again on my vrs and just wondering if the coils fail, I only changed the plugs bout 6k ago and they were gapped correctly, guess I will give it to skoda to have a look at as its in warranty

What age is your car? Make sure it has all the lastest ECU updates.

How did the old plugs look? Is it using oil?

When does the misfire happen?

2013 cthe engine 19800 miles old plugs were not to bad just changed them for my own peice of mind and not to sure about ecu updated?

It hasn't happend since 14th January 2016

It started missfiring eml flashing at me? Pulled over turned off and back on all clear

Was driving it sensibly

I had exactly the same problem after a plug change (Denso SKJ20), gapped at Skoda's recommended 0.8mm. Car would misfire under load & sometimes go into limp mode. Switch engine off & leave a few minutes & all back to normal. Same thing kept happening though.

Reduced plug gap to 0.6mm & problem solved. That was 8000miles ago & no problems since.
