Theres a dint in my roof??

Featured Replies

Only had my fabia vrs just over one month and ive got a dint in the roof. ive never ut anything onthe roof in my life but with it being a month on will skoda do anything about it?? i dunno wether they will just think iam stupid etc?? iam only 20yrs old and got funny looks when i took it back for a switch to be swaped over. Can i complain about it do i stay PI**ed off wiw it?? Plz Help

What kind of dint is it? It's not uncommon for stones and things to fly up on the motorway and cause a small dent, but if it was there when you accepted the car, then you may have a case for getting Skoda to repair it, depending on what you signed....

i agree, could have been anything, even little b****rds throwing things from an over pass somewhere.

I have a dint (dent) on my roof. The paint is fully intact, but the dent is very noticeable. It looks about the size and shape of a golf ball!!!

Not worth getting it fixed though. As sure as i get it sorted another one will appear, sods law.

Its not fully noticeable but the point is that ive spent 12K on a new car with a dent in. Ive done a few motorway miles but never heard a bang so i dont believe ive done it. I dont think some little B****rds have done either. The paint work is intact and everything. Ill see what happy skoda is gunna say. It didnt help picking up the car in dark. Which i know u shouldnt do but its not everyweek you get a great new car.

And how can i describle the dent its like uve lent on it with your elbow and made an ever so small dent in the roof. Its at the back right handside passenger door. even if i own a crap A reg banger id have to have it all smooth and shiny it just draws me when i look after things.

Have you parked under a tree? Falling acorn.

No thats why iam pi**ed off. If i had of droped somthing or parked under a tree or something i wouldnt mind. Ive thought of things like parking under a tree and ive parked at work and home and a retail park which there are no trees.

Take it and find out man, you won't know unless you try. Good luck.

I had a dent in the roof, never found out what did it (passer-by banged it?) but it was incredibly easy to remove. Dropped one edge of the roof lining, held a rounded piece of wood underneath, tapped the wood with a hammer, hey presto.

A door panel or wing would have been more difficult due to access, strip down, etc. but the roof was easy.

Right been to skoda dealer and they have said theres no way on earth it left here with the dent it. It goes though to many checks. (even though they failed to miss the passenger door was no shutting properly) but they are arrangeing someone to take the dent out for a small price of 25notes, and lending me a car as well so i carnt really complain at that. On the other hand i could say its only 25notes why dont they pay when ive just spent 12K. But thats life and it could have been worse.

Sounds like a decent outcome tbh mate, they could have just turned round and said a big blunt NO.

Thats how iam looking at it. Look at the positive side. Like u say they could of said NO. So ill give Lightcliffe Skoda Huddersfield a small plug and a

good turn out really... its proberbly labour your paying there more than anything else.

I looked at 5 fabias before i bought mine and 2 of them had dints in the roofs.

one was a 53 plate with 15k on it.

the other was a Y reg saloon YUK i reckon that was from a taxi sign tho.

Could have been any number of reasons including people who walk over it. At least your dealer looked at it, many would just have (quite legally) told you to get lost. These things can happen anywhere and proving it was like that when the dealer gave it too you is tricky, if not impossible since you have done miles! Bodywork is always really hard to get anywhere on!

Not a bad result in the circumstances. :)
