Key Coding

Recommended Posts

I bought the car with 1 key, lost it and had new keys made and programmed. Since then I have now found the original key (which no longer works). Is there a way I can reprogram this key back in without VCDS or is it a case of taking it to the local garage? I had a reasonable quote and it's booked in for MOT at an independent this month.

I tried the guides on youtube which show how to do it but unfortunately this didn't work for me

Note: I own 3 remote keys and 1 standard

Any help appreciated

Well when I was talking to the garage they originally said they couldn't do it and would have to send me to a specialist or something, but since I have the immobiliser code written down that they should be able to reprogram the key for me and just charge labour. Not sure how they'd do it however
