Recommendation for Volksmaster - Northwest England

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Hope this post is in the correct area, finally got around to recommending the garage/s I use.

For my mk 1 fabia VRS, I’ve used both the Oldham and Bury garages of Volksmaster, (family run VW specialists) over the last couple of years.

Both offer a fantastic service, Ryan, Mike, Nathan, Lisa and the team are very thorough, professional, knowledgeable and honest.

Ryan even did a couple of jobs free of charge, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Why not try your local dealer?

you might be surprised at what we can offer and the expertise we posses.

Because when you have an older car they don't seem interested and will quote high.

I asked for a quote from the above garage and whilst still cheaper than the local dealer, where still expensive. So guess how much more expensive local dealer was.

If dealers did a price match then maybe. But since they don't, they don't get the work.

I suppose you could quote high and have little work, or price match and be busy, thus earning more money in the long run.

Meh, what do I know.

We offer a price match scheme.

We also display all our fixed priced items online and often discount work for forum or owners club members, there's no canvassing then making up prices on the spot.

Nope, can't find a single price for a car over 9 years old, can't find a price for anything simple like an oil change, cambelt change, brake pads etc etc

Maybe if your not allowed to post a link send one to me via PM, because I can't find them on the websites.

Now if you will do a price match on an older car (over 10 years old), then you will get my money, but as I said above, dealers just seem to not bother with the older car.

You could of course prove me wrong  :nerd:

prices for cars from 3-10 years old, whilst it's not displayed they'll be the same for those 10 years old +

Most service items are in there.

You're always better off giving us a call though, even if you want to talk technical stuff just ask for me.

Why wouldn't we want to get involved with older cars? I've been working on vw ag built cars all my career, I cut my teeth on the mk1 VRS cars and their brand cousins in different clothing.
