Miracast

Featured Replies

I have a iPhone 6,

Does anyone know if I have miracast?

Can't seem to find it in settings, but then maybe looking in the wrong settings.

Thanks

Have you checked the app store?? If it is available for the idevice, it will be there.

If it isnt there, and it isnt on your phone, what can I say?? "You should have bought an Android". :sun:

I don't think they do Miracast, since Apple have their own (Apple-only) equivalent in Airplay.

Apple just doesn't support it... they decided to re-invent the wheel and use their own proprietary system. Hence why early cars with just Mirrorlink don't work with iPhone as Apple used their own system for that too!

I would say it's not a native Apple supported feature of iOS but there's many an app.... etc.

That requires a specific EZ cast dongle though... which isn't native Miracast.

I suspected as much, we could never get Miracast to work, but assumed SWMBOs 4s was too old.

Finally weaned her off of ithings and, although it isnt what I wanted her to try, she now has a Samsung Galaxy Note4, and is enjoying streaming films from her favourite Chinese language film service to our 4K TV.
