How far would you drive to view

I broke down (blew the engine on my Suzuki Gamma) in Carlisle one day. Dropped the bike off at Collinsway motorcycles to be looked at, and a bloke there offered me a lift home on the back of his CBX1000. I have never been so scared in all my life, he was an absolute nutter!

  • Im pretty fussy about what i buy, it has to be right. So distance isnt an issue tbh

  • I did Scarborough to Sandgate for a Capri - a 600 mile round trip. Then Scarborough to Brighton for the Ignis - another 600 miles.  The problem with living where I do is that 50% of the potential radi

a car of the make/model and colour you wanted?

I'd thought that my limit would be 200 miles but I think I'd be tempted to go a little further for something that looked just right.

Within the (mainland) UK would be my limit.  I've purchased most of my car locally, but have been happy to travel for the best deal. My local main dealer didn't want to match a deal I'd found on-line for a Mazd5 (in Leamington Spa), so happily spent the day collecting the car (and saving ~25% on list price).

A few years ago I traded in a Yeti / picked up a new Octavia 4x4 from a dealer just outside London - again saved a considerable sum and treated the trip as a "day out". Probably a 250 mile round trip.

I also once travelled 400 miles in a day to pick up a new interior / spare set of alloys for my old Mk I  Octavia 4x4.

Had a gamma... Well, 3 of them... Mk1, mk2 and mk3.

Would have loved a CBX, holy cow those things were (are) immense.
