Hi I have a fabia estate 61 plate. In space near number but before spare wheel compartment I have a space the full width of the car about 2 to 3 inches wide with a foam block with some spaces in it any ideas what it is for please. I have the other one that holds the brace etc.. In spare wheel.

Your Number Plate is on the rear hatch is it not so up in the air if you are into the spare tyre well.

 

There is sometimes a holder above the floor level for a folding warning triangle, but that is not at the Tyre Well Level.

Is the foam not part of the Crumple Zone fitted by Skoda.

 

I must nosey in a vRS Estate and see what it has inside the rear body shell.

is the block fro the front something similar inside the boot of your estate?

The estate is longer at the rear than the Hatchback.

He's talking about the under-floor storage that fills the combi's extra length. The insert is made of the same foam as the spare wheel compartment and has various dividers. I've also wondered if they're designed for any specific purpose but I've just filled mine with all sorts of bits and pieces that usually clutter the interior.
