Snap crackle and POP

Anyone managed to pin point the cause of the loud popping noises from the dash as car the car warms up.

It seems to me that the dash is expanding at different rates and the poping noise is the plastic moving into a new position.

Sometimes does it when pulling away quickly.

Seems to go away after 1/2 driving with the heater on.

Spoiling what is a very, very good car.

Dealer is trying to help.

Anyone help please.

Can't help with the problem but can confirm that my elegance does it too. It's not excessive just the odd crack as the car changes temp.

I haven't noticed anything TBH

Mine does it too, but not enough to get annoying. It seems to happen more when the car starts to heat up from cold on a frosty morning.

Same here, but the creaking of the door seals drowns out the noise.

Its not enough to stop me loving the car, Im taking delivery of a new (used) one on friday and hoping its not as bad.

Got a good cure for the doors seals.

Clean them with silicon remover and apply Carbaflo.

Both available from BMW, pricey at

Turn the stereo up or sing loudly!!

:)

If its coming from the demister vent (kinda looks like a long speaker grill) pop into your local dealer. They will be able to help you now thanks to some help from Skoda technical.

I have the same problem it seems to start 5 mins after starting and can last over an hour it is extremely annoying an I can hear it over the radio. My elegance 1.9tdi is at the dealers tomorrow for this and for problem of the very loud whistling from the turbo

I am getting this (Snap crackle and POP) more since I had a new windscreen fitted

a bit annoying, as after I had the screen fitted some other noises disappeared, i think that came from the RV mirror mounting?!!
