To "Barge" Or Not?

Featured Replies

Now I am happy with my mk1 Octy Estate vRS, but with more miles looming (my hobby is getting more serious so miles adding up), and now looking at a Barge (Lexus, Honda, Merc, Superb for instance), or keep it vRS and get a Fabia (mk1).

So for miles, which Barge (make 3K, high miles not a problem on most Jap stuff hence lexus or honda) or maybe a warm Dirty hatch?

Cheers

There are some Lexus LS for around 3k with lots of toys. For a little bit more you could get a VW Phaeton..

Problem is, car is cheap enough but the amount of electrics and potential problems mean it could make it impractical...

If you're in a position that it'll be ok to scrap the car should anything major go wrong then why not.

If you're lucky it might run for ages with no big issues. But anything going wrong would probably mean a write off.
