Air Conditioning Query

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Occassionally, when I look down to adjust my heating controls I see that air conditioning has come on by itself.

Is this an eco feature or something, or is it a fault of some sort?

I'm new to the SKODA brand so forgive my ignorance in advance.

Thanks,

Ronan

Have you got the "Auto" setting on? If I have it in Auto the Air Con will always come on by itself.

Hmm, I'm not sure to be honest. How do I check that?

Sorry, just looking through the manual online and I don't have an 'auto' option on my Octavia.

Sounds like you don't have climate control so to my knowledge it shouldn't be coming on by itself.

Having said that in 2 and a half years not once did my VRS turn on the air con without me pressing the button and it spent it's life in auto:

Humidity sensor may be sensing the windscreen steaming up.

The answer is to read the manual.

Thanks for the replies guys, sorry for sounding like a dolt! :) Will keep ye posted.

The air-con will come on automatically when you switch the vents to screen only to ensure it will be mist free.
