Central locking danger

Featured Replies

Hi ,My 2006 1.9 octavia L K stays locked when I pull up even when I remove the key,so to let anyone in I have to use the fob,,or pull the handle twice.on the passenger door. Also the console central locking switch doesn't work,.I think these symptoms are linked as I have just fitted a new switch.THIS IS A DANGER HELP,I have had the car about a month

I would see if there are any fault codes logged in the central locking computer first with VCDS and go from there, it may be the faulty switch on the console that's confusing it or causing the issue like you say

If you throw a post up on the mk1 octy section or run a search there - plenty threads on C/L issues

There is a chance that whoever coded the auto lock hasn't coded the unlock when removing the key, you have to do both.

2006 should be a MK2

The central locking switch on the console,I'm told is a poor design, an electronics mate took it apart and cleaned and soldered the 4 pins inside, now it works-only replace with a new one.also had the anti hijack locking turned off.No relevant fault codes on vag com

It's a great improvement

I've a 2007 L&K and you can turn on or off the function to lock the doors once the cars moving via the maxi dot display you can also set it so that from outside the key fob on one press unlocks only the driver door whilst two in succession unlocks them all .... there's no denying that to an extent this is a handy function when travelling alone it's a pain in the backside when travelling with passengers
