Symphony head unit mk 1 fabia - need to test it

Featured Replies

Morning all,

recently sold our mk 1 Fabia but still have the OEM Symphony head unit as we'd already put a replacement in the car.

Before selling the Symphony, I want to check to make sure there is no CD still in the player. Logically I would have done this before removing, but can't be 100% sure!

Possibly a very basic question, but i don't want to get this wrong.

I have obtained a copy of the wiring diagram  - can I run a cable from the +ve on the battery to either terminal 4 (ignition 12v yellow) or 7 (battery 12v red) in "Block A". And then a separate cable from -ve car battery to terminal 8 (Ground black) in "Block A"? Will this power the Symphony and enable me to press the CD button and check for a disc?

If yes, should it be terminal 4 or 7 I use for +ve? Do I need an in-line fuse on the +ve cable or will the 10A fuse on the head unit provide sufficient protection?

We do still have a Skoda Rapid but having removed the double DIN head unit, there is no obvious way to plug in and test the Symphony.

Thanks in advance for any help.

What bluetooth enabled unit fits in best to replace the Symphony?
