Clutch Slave Cylinder

Featured Replies

Hi all

On Thursday night I broke down in Wales, clutch pedal dropped to the floor as I was going to change gear.

Managed to get it towed back to a garage on Friday, and we found that the pipe connecting to the clutch bleed nipple from the clutch master/slave cylinder had come off.

I had a new clutch fitted at the end of last year, and we thought that the pipe may not have been fitted properly. Between me and the guy at the garage we bleed the clutch and fitted the pipe securely and I managed to get on my way.

Driving the car again yesterday the same thing has happened, clutch pedal has dropped to the floor, fortunately much nearer home this time.

Any ideas how it would become so pressurised that the pipe managed to blow itself off again?

When we bled the clutch we noticed some fine alloy pieces, so wondering if the master/slave cylinder has had it and is in need of replacing?
