could have a seriously quick high spec sleeper for not much cash

The superb is an excellent car, very spacious and luxurious.

Wondering what things to look out for in cars like that (say aircon etc?) other than testing most of the electric gear that you actually want to use, works, plus car in good condition.

Would the turbo need reconditioning?

Not too sure about remaping a petrol car with that many miles, diesel should be OK (but don't hold me to that) and yes they are nice cars.....go round corners quite well and my 130+ a bit tdipd is doing sub 8 secs to 60 which for a big heavy car aint bad, loads of space and even the lowest spec (classic) has a lot of toys.......climate control, electric windows, heated mirrors, ...the list is quite long.....still does 30 + around town and maybe even up to 60 mpg on a long run.

Best Skoda I have had so far

octy 1.9 sdi

octy tdi pd 130 elegance

Octy vrs estate

and now 05 Superb classic tdi pd 130

so how long do the turbos typically last on these engines?

You should see 150,000 easily.
