AutoSmart Red7

Featured Replies

Just a quick review with no pics (what can I say, my wheels arnt that dirty)

Ever since IronX (made by CQuartz/Carpro etc) with a "bleeding" fallout remover it's become a must have product (bit like snow foam) in that it works and, lets face it, it looks like its working.

All will use the same (or very similar) base chemical to achieve the results, that is to "open" the pores of the paint and release/and/or dissolve the iron (which can come from car brakes, train stations etc).

So where does Red7 fit into this?

Well AutoSmart have jumped on the band wagon (same as changing the names of TFR to snow foam (same thing anyway)) and released a "bleeding" fallout remover to go along with their normal fallout remover (which is not colour changing and is acidic).

Its aimed at the mobile valeter and the more careful dealer (yes some do exist), comes in 5L, 25L etc but due to the price will be used by the home user as well.

As those who have used the popular fallout removers, ironx, wolfs decon, envys iron awe, AF etc etc will know the smell, its not a nice smell but thats the base chemical for you.

With Red7 its not that strong, now without reading the MSDS (which I will) I can't say if its the same base chemical or a lower dilution of it, but that does mean your neighbours (customers) wont be mentioning it to you.

Its still gel like, not as thick as some but still with decent cling.

I used a AS Trigger (which is same as everyone elses just with an AS brand on it) and gave the wheels a decent spray and left to work whilst I cleaned the arches and tyres.

As you would expect, yes it turned purple, not like the wolfs which has a degreaser in it which also works against dirt, and due to the cling meant I could work it with my brush (swissvax if anyone is interested) into the corners and bolt holes.

Rinsed off with the K7 and left a clean wheel (which isnt a surprise since the wheels arnt really that dirty).

Will get a dirty alloy to try it on and then of course pics will be taken.

So, summary:

Trade bleeding fallout remover which you should be able to pick up for around £30 (which is what I paid inc vat) but might be cheaper if your bulk buying.

Works, cheap, not that smelly.

Advertised as a wheel cleaner, but can be used on the rest of the car (mine is a black car so you wouldn't see anything)

Will update with pics when I get a dirty wheel to do.

Any questions I will try to answer.

Have five litres, looking forward to using it :)

After Ben recommended this, I did a bit of research. And its sounds and looks decent, especially for the price. We all like to see a product working I guess, which is why a lot of people prefer the bleeding products.

Thanks for taking the time to do the write up and I look forward to the shots on a dirty wheel.
