We're currently trying to replace a 4 post stand of similar looks, which in it's day should have cost a bomb. Unfortunately I don't think anything black/silver and glass is going to wash.

Fair enough. Maybe try http://www.thefurnituremarket.co.uk I've no affiliation but have a couple of their rustic oak items and would recommend.
