Purchase/Leasing with Volkswagen Personal Contract Plan (PCP)

Featured Replies

I am shortly to take delivery of a Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI 150PS DSG SEL Estate using Volkswagen's finance PCP.

Volkswagen's web page here says they will pay any fine, as the registered keeper of the vehicle, incurred by me, as the driver, then bill me plus admin and VAT.

Should VW not register me as keeper from new then, if I end the PCP after my 36 months, I decide not to buy the car but transfer it to them as the new keeper.

Sorry not an answer to your question, but some thoughts until someone comes along with one.

They can do as they want if you sign and accept.

Motability Finance buy cars and lease them, and the Keeper goes on the V5 as the Registered Keeper, not Motability Finance that own the car.

They can hardly pay a Speeding fine because they would not know who the driver was,

then they can hardly pay a Parking Fine, or Bus lane fine because you may be disputing it, car cloned etc etc.

Interesting to hear what experiences people have.

If it's PCP then the registered keeper on the V5C will be you - any speeding fines or parking fines or whatever are sent to the registered keeper (who is in this case not the registered owner which is the finance company) so likely means nothing.

If in doubt ask them to clarify.

You say you're buying on PCP. The Contract Hire section states that they pay the fines as they're the registered keeper. You're not taking out Contract Hire are you?

Thank goodness someone reads what is in front of them; in answer to Rustynuts's no I'm not taking out contract hire am I. I fooled myself into thinking the page I linked to was specifically PCP related but it's not ; it's general VW finance.

Thank you corroded cobblers.
