Folks

  will be picking up my new Fabia Colour Edition in the next few weeks but am a bit confused. My mobile is a Motorola Moto X Play which apparently doesn't support Mirrorlink. I am hoping to use say Google Maps(you don't need data permanently on do you) to navigate but don't know what app to use & whether the app(s) project the map onto the Bolero display or not. I've heard of Android Auto but don't understand what's needed on the car.

Also, will the head unit play music at the same time as navigating? Sorry to be full of questions but like i said; a bit confused... :think:

 

I use Android Auto on a Motorola E 2nd generation (£69).

 

I currently don't have an unlimited data plan with it,which would be ideal.

 

 

At the moment I download Google maps over wi-fi and switch data off in the car (airplane mode works too) to use satnav.

 

The only down side is that you can't give voice commands using the button  on the steering wheel (you'd have to switch data back on to do that).

Gifffgaff do a monthly unlimited data plan for £20 per month but you may use less data  and find a better plan for less.

 

Yes,the music plays but quietens when the satnav speaks (but this can be muted).

 

By the way it should be 'Smartlink' on your car.
