Which tyre?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Only 500 miles done and I have my first puncture.   Its a slow one losing about 5psi a day.

Because they are still new tyres I will just replace it with the same which is a pirelli p zero.  I dont like the idea of a puncture repair on a tyre and prefer just to replace it.

The problem is there are 2 identical tyres with the difference being the road noise and fuel economy.  Does anybody know which one I should order.  I am thinking the (C,A,71)..

Thanks

Look at the sidewall of the original tyre.

I may be missing something but whats the issue with a puncture repair if its in the centre part of the tyre and its carried out properly to british standards and balanced up - obviously if the tyres been run when complete flat or the puncture is in or close to the side wall i know its an issue.

Also could it be a a dodgy valve or the tyre bead just leaking? Guessing the car/alloys are too young to suffer from corrosion on the bead seat that could cause this. Is it worth getting it looked at before binning a 500 mile old tyre?

No there is no issue with puncture repairs and have had a fair few repaired in the past.  It's just my preference to replace them of a car that has a bit more power.

I did get it checked out this morning and it was a screw right in the middle so they were able to repair it.  It' on the rear so feel a little more confident with it.

I have never had any worries about properly repaired tyres. If the tyre is not repairable the tyre fitter will tell you straight out, they will hopefully get a new tyre sale if they don't fix it.
