Replacement battery for a 2008 Skoda Octavia Scout

Featured Replies

My mate is on his way from Spain to the UK as we speak. He has just messaged to say he needs a new battery for his 2008 Skoda Octavia Scout while he is here.

I am no expert but what is the best battery to get i.e like for like spec or better spec? Also where is the best place to buy i.e Halfrauds or is there somewhere in the Midlands better to source a battery?

Lastly, how easy is it to swap the batteries over (admittedly, I could Google this)

Any help would be appreciated.

I put this in our VRS. Awesome battery (the Varta equivalent is identical but cheaper).

Disconnect the negative first (breaks the circuit) then the positive.

When you put the new one on connect the positive first then the negative.

Job done.

See my identical thread...

I fitted a Varta E44 (Bosch S5) for less than £70. Bought it online with next day delivery.

Thanks gents, looks like you are both recommending the same battery, I'll order one today!

Good choice.

I bought the Bosch S5 and fitted it to my 2008 Scout before realising the Varta E44 was the exact same battery but £10-£15 cheaper!

Fits like a glove though...
