Fabia II Combi Sport - Passenger Door Opening Question

Featured Replies

Hi, newbie here with what I hope is a dumb question. :)

My new-to-me Combi had to go back to the dealer soon after delivery for a noise in the front passenger window mechanism to be fixed.  It returned with the front passenger door locked and impossible to open from either inside or out.  Now it's back again after being 'fixed' and the door opens but requires the handle to be pulled twice before it will do so.  I don't recall this being necessary before and the other 3 doors open on a single pull.

Is this normal, please?  Have I missed something in my reading of the owners' manual or have the garage only done half a job in fixing the lock mechanism?

That's what I feared.  The broke all the door card fixing studs but never replaced them, either.  The job (bodge!) was done by a independent garage in Spain who do work for the car dealer.  Bunch of cowboys from what I've seen so far.  Next stop will be a Skoda main dealer.

Thanks for the rapid response.

Two pulls from inside, suggests the anti hijack is active.  You activate this to stop people being able to open the doors from outside but from inside, pul the handle once, it cancels the anti hijack, a second pull opens the door. This is a safety feature to stop you been g locked in, during an emergency situation.

Nope!

it's another security feature! I've got the 'Anti-Hijack' switched on on my car, but only needs one pull on the internal handles to unlock and open the doors, I believe it's on the same settings page, but another box to tick/untick just like the two press or one press on the remote to unlock the drivers then passenger doors (which I do have switched on!) :)

Find someone close to you who has the VCDS and can fettle it properly (and a few other settings) for a small (smaller than the dealer) fee or a few beers!! :)
