i have a fabia 1.2 htp which has started running roughly and using oil, the garage checked it out, and said i have no compression on No 3 cylinder, is this a common problem, and is it likely to be expensive? thanks.

Possibly, I bought my polo that way to fix myself being a mechanic so I ended up with a cheap car, even then I don't think I'd do it again, it's abit of a chew on of a job because of the timing chain so you basically have to strip the full engine down till your just left with a sump and block :D

Do you have a picture off the spark plugs? 1 2 3 ....
