Heko wind deflector issues

Featured Replies

So I fitted these around Christmas and I've noticed some issues after fitting.

1. The passenger side window won't close properly it hits the pinch guard setting thinking there's something in the way and comes back down - I've read other posts saying put the window up and leave it and it will get used to it - hasn't worked for me.

2.Drivers side doesn't do that but rattles against the window when open more than a few cm, equally as annoying!

I've tried pushing the metal clips further in, they seem rather snug already can't move them further

Anyone seen this before?

Wait till the weather warms up and they will be much more pliable.

Make sure that the little metal spacers are placed in decent positions, and evenly spaced from each pillar..

Also make sure the clips are the right way round..

I had this issue when I first had mine but moved the clips a little bit and left the windows up for a couple days and they've been fine since!

Right way round? They only fit one way dont they, with the spike into the door rubber - otherwise you get a nice scratch down the window if they are installed the other way around  :D

How did you space yours? I know they are in different positions somewhat between the two on the passenger side and two on drivers side, maybe i should refit them...how do you get them back out? Mini screwdriver?

I guess your right.. I just remember two of mine being extremely loose and falling out.

Come to think of it - I think I used a small spanner of all things to push them right in and stretch the edges out.

Equal distances away from each other and equal distances away from each pillar.

The window goes up into the clip with the spike being on the outside, I have it facing the deflector so as to dig in and keep it in place. Not sure if that is right or wrong but mine stay in place ok. You could also tr a little bit of double sided tape.

As for spacing the clips I just applied a bit of common sense and place them where they will be most effective. Evenly spaced applying an even amount of pressure along the whole length of the deflector.

Adjusted the clip positions closer to either end of the door and seems to be fixed now.
