**** HELP **** Skoda Octavia 2 wont start

Featured Replies

Hi all

Any help would be great. Got a Octavia 2 2.0pd engine code BMN and it wont start.

Got a code reader and its throwing 2 codes in a P0642 and a P0322.

Was told to change the crank sensor and after managing that (pain of a job) still no better and codes still the same!!

Anyone shed any light as to why?

Cheers

Fault Code

P0642

Fault Description

Sensor reference voltage A - circuit low

Possible Causes Wiring

Fault Code

P0322

Fault Description

Crankshaft position (CKP) sensor/engine speed (RPM) sensor - no signal

Possible Causes

Wiring, CKP/RPM sensor, ECM

My guess would be a wiring fault as this is throwing up this fault in both codes

As above, unless they have fitted a faulty sensor (it does happen), its probably a wiring fault or connection to the ECU

Checked all the wiring from sensor to ECU and nothing showed itself. Took ECU out to check for any ingress of water but nothing. Then check voltages to crank sensor and found that the voltages were all correct and that there was a refence voltage. Started to unplug other sensor on circuit A and found when disconnecting the DPF pressure sensor the codes then cleared. Tried starting with pressure sensor disconnected and it fired straight into life. Ordered a genuine sensor and will try that on this afternoon.

Very stressful job but shows that other sensors throw up codes not related to fault...

Cheers for the help guys
