Hi, pretty new to this game so bear with me!! What type of oil should I be putting in my 51 plate VRS?? I guess there is going to be a VAG response and then what is actually best

In my O5 plate Octy Vrs I put FULLY SYNTHETIC 5W 30 OIL. (As advised by my dealer)

Skoda recomend Shell Helix but that is hard to find and VERY expensive.

If people disagree with me i am in the s***.

This is a fully synthetic one.

This is from the dealer and we think it is very good.

It can depend on what type of service schedule you are on, if you are on fixed servicing you can get away with semi synthetic, though it does not matter if you use fully synthetic oil, just that it costs more. If you are on variable servicing you must use the VW 'long life' oil which is fully synthetic or equivalent - check the VW standard (which I can't remember right now, on hols and tiddly!)
