Dirty MAF

Featured Replies

I actually sorted the running problems on my octy... who'd have thought a dirty MAF would cause so many problems.

It runs like a dream... no engine light... an extra 10mpg at least.... smooth idle... its a miracle...

should have got off my **** long ago and sorted it out... thanks to all for the advice.... just one small problem... why has my rear wash wipe gained a mind of its own.... keeps firing up when and where it thinks it should ??!!?!

:D

i think thats just whats been wrong with mine but the engine light keeps clearing off and the car goes back to normal before i get it to the dealers !

got no idea about the rear wash/wipe though.... maybe a faulty stalk!? sounds like the the button in the stalk is fubard

could be that your car is just happy now it can breath again so its wagging its tail ;):D

... maybe it is happy... i got 45mpg average on the back roads now compared to just 30mpg before i cleaned it.

I think the stalk is faulty... if i fiddle with it the wash wipe stops then comes back on when it shouldn't - have removed the fuse cos its getting on my ****

I used to have a BMW that had a similar mystery illness that always went away before I got it to the garage. It turned out that the sensor in the gearbox was starting to seize, so every now and then it would cut out on me and show a warning light. I'd leave it for an hour and it would be fine! bloody nightmare it was, took it to three different garages who charged me

45mpg?!? (do you use the accelerator?) How many miles are on the clock? If it makes that much differece, I might give mine a spray with contact cleaner later on!
