Contact images on Bolero radio

Featured Replies

I have changed my Sony tipo phone which showed the contact images on the radio screen for a motog2015 which shows contact names but no image.

Has anyone found a way around this problem? I believe there is an app which has been used on other cars which has done the job.

No solution but interested in the outcome.

I have Google's flagship android phone, a Nexus 6P. Works great with Smartlink/Android Auto, but on bluetooth it won't show the contacts pics.

My wife has a GS6. Won't work with Smartlink/AA but hers shows her contact pic fine.

Both are on android 6.0.1.

No idea what the issue is.

There is an option in the telephone settings to tick a box marked something like "display picture" it may help.

Mine's ticked for both phones. Still made no difference.

I have downloaded an app from google playstore'Bluetooth Phonebook' for £1.79 now all my contacts gmail are shown with their pictures, at first i thought it was not going to work, as it only opened a few contacts but after ticking the boxes again works ok

I think this issue may be phone related, the tick box in the bolero makes no difference if your phone does not transfer the pictures.

I had a moto x play running Android 6 which would not display the pictures of contacts and could not find any settings in the phone that would be stopping this.

Changed phone to a Samsung S6 as the moto was not compatible with mirrorlink (another story), photos sync first time from this phone and are now displayed on the bolero screen.

That's odd. My moto X play not only displays photos but also is android auto and mirror link compatible.

Is it android6?? I think that may be the  problem

Two phones here, both on 6.0.1.

Wife's S6 works with Mirror link and shows fave contacts pics fine on Bluetooth. Won't work with Android Auto.

My N6P works with AA but not Mirror link, and doesn't show fave pics on BT.

Yup, updated again yesterday to 6.0.1 never had any problems (other than the usual cable issues)

Interesting Motorola phones are not listed as being Mirrorlink compatible, following link show phones that work; http://www.mirrorlink.com/phones  Suspect this list is not up to date but have not been able to confirm if S7 or LG5 have Mirrorlink, but unlikely that have removed this functionality.

On my Samsung S6 there is a setting to turn on Mirrorlink, I could not find this in the Moto settings.

Domhnall how have you got Mirrorlink to work on your Moto and what apps are you using, do you use SYGIC for Sat Nav.

No, didn't try mirrorlink. It turns the screen off when the car moves so I use android auto as it works when you're moving.

I use Google maps, beyond pod, tune in radio, Spotify and Google now.

I downloaded the trial app.

Pictures now appear in contacts and after refreshing/reassigning the short-cut buttons the pictures now appear.

I'll now download the full app.

Thanks roadtrain and Urrell. Now have pics! The app is now £1.29.
