just got first problem no BT connection

Featured Replies

Went out to start work today, and my phone would not connect to BT on the Amusden, tried everything, it was connecting ok since last Tuesday,

The phone is a HTC1 and found every BT open except for the unit, even did a factory reset on unit and delated the unit on the phone, and did a full set up again, still would not connect, so had to grab my BT ear piece, that connected straight away.

BT unit under drivers seat number is 3C8035730E, so what could have gone wrong??

If I was to get a DAB Columbus unit are all the connections the same on the back of it, the same as the amsuden???

Have you also tried deleting all previous saved connections in the unit in the car. I had to do this a while back when I was having issues with the Bluetooth.... from memory I did it via the maxidot but it was a while ago so can't remember exactly how.

The car can only hold three different phones I think so if it already had two in memory and yours was the third then something went wrong and corrupted there would be no space left to add your phone again.

I did delate all the other phones, when trying to pare, it comes up with a 6 didgit pass key this number is also shown on my phone, , I click pare but it wont connect , try again and it gives a diferent number, but that number also shows on my phone, I have tryed it just off the phone as well, on my old rns 315 the number was 0000 and it conected straight away, and conected every time I went into the car, most of the phone settings on the unit, amusdon , are unhighlighted so cannot select any of them

Ok..... I'm not sure then..... One other thing to try would be to try and pair another phone so as to prove it is definitely something in the car at fault.

Tried my wifes Samsung also still no joy

Other than the BT module having died I'm stumped.

Reboot phone, delete old phones , lock car and leave it for 10 mins. Then retry. Disconnect battery for 30 secs

Got it working but taking an age to connect, unplugged BT unit turned on ignition, turned it off, reconnected , and selected factory reset , it then found my phone, it has 2 options premium or hands free , what do I select no real description in info book

Hands free if you still want to use phone. Premium takes control of your sim

So just cto clarifie using it in just hands free mode yot can still answer or call using the cars unit and steering wheel controles

Hands free is a HFP connection which is all I can connect as because I have an iPhone. This means you can make and receive calls via the car and can listen to music from the phone on the HU.

Premium is an rSAP connection which means as well as the above you can also read your text messages via the car etc..... As Terry says the car connects with the phones SIM and instead of the phone's antenna uses the car's sharkfin instead so add to get a better signal I think. This is an Android only connection I believe but seeing as I've never had an Android phone I've never had the option to connect in premium mode.

You use the MFSW controls for both of the above.
