Superb 2

Thats a stretched octavia body isn't it?

:iagree:

Looks like someone has stretched a mk1 Octavia by about 100mm or so by adding in an additional section between the front and rear doors

assume is a very early mule testing floorpan... as is clearly an octavia... however the multiple shots would indicate is not a photo shop.....

unless of course we are getting a lwb Octy to replace superb???

LWB Octy 2 4x4 3.0tdi estate with DSG - would kinda kick the Signum in the nuts.... and the A4 A6 Passat etc.....

I thought they were axing the Superb on the grounds that not enough people bought them???

Which looks bloomin awful.:thumbdwn:

Stretched octavia would be no bad thing though. And a hatcback????? Please

Perhaps it is actually a test mule for a company that is thinking of making a wedding car/limo/funeral car ?

Octy-based MPV seems quite a good possibility to me, seeing how VW have the Golf+ and the Touran and Seat have the Altea, whereas Skoda have nothing in that sector as yet.

After all, it's only the running gear that'd be being tested at the stage the photo was taken - bodywork etc. would be much further down the line. I remember seeing spy shots of the test mule for the Vantage's transmission, which was a Jag XJ with about a foot lopped off between the B and C pillars. Looked VERY odd...

may not sell well over here but it certainly sells in europe. One in pic is just floorplan been tested hence octavia body. To test octy 2 they had a big fabia body on the octy 2 floor plan!!

that was a mule for the next Fabia.

As the Superb will sit on the Passat floorpan it would be more than easy enough to develop as the Passats floorpan is basically a longer version of the Golfs. So it is simple to run a suspension mule with an Octavia body.

.

Hmmm testing new fab very early then... hopefully a good sign  Going to be quite a bit bigger then the new one

I quite like it, needs a bit better blending on the bolt-on-looking middle bit, mind. Oh, and a vRS badge ;)

If they were thinking of axing the Superb on grounds of not selling many then I doubt they are going to do themselves any favours by putting that motor into production.

I am not a fan but more than likely it is a test car of some description.
