Ever since I got my car back in October, the main key with the little torch on it hasn't worked, the key light flashes on the dash and if I do start the car with it, it quickly cuts out again so I've just been using the spare key all this time but its bugging me not knowing why its doing it.

key light is the immobiliser I believe, could be a bad battery or might need re-pairing with the car.

I can't remember the exact code but when scanning for codes after trying to start the car with the key it says rejected or refused or something like that by the immobiliser. Should mention too it's not remote locking, just central locking 

Sounds like immo has forgot the key then, hence why it will kill the engine when it figures this out.

 

VAGtacho is the program/cable which is needed to sort this out
