oil top up - BMM TDI (no dpf)

Featured Replies

Just a quickie - wife has just told me that he oil light came on today on our Octy (2.0 TDi BMM 4x4 with DPF removed).  It's been on long life servicing so 507.00 oil but all I have to hand is Triple QX 5w-30 Fully Synthetic low SAPS C3 for the Civic.  It appears to be marked 505.01 so shoul dbe OK for PD engines.

Am I right in thinking you can top up on long life with 505.01 once so this should be OK? (but given no dpf I assume it'll be OK anyhows?)

Ta

505 will be fine for a top-up.

The low ash 507 is for DPF's and since you no longer have one then it will be fine.

I'd stock up on 507 though for the future.

Thanks guys - looks like I'll be topping up in the dark with the Triple QX but will get the Quantum in for future use!

Just sorted... It took just under a litre... And I'm glad we now have led streetlights round us.. Made the job much easier given it was dark...
