Oil Leak Transfer Box

Featured Replies

Yesterday the car went in for it's first MOT and second variable service both were completed ok. However, during the 'health check' an oil leak was noted on the transfer box. I got a call telling me and confirming as there was no external damage they had ordered a new part under the warranty. I guessed that they would replace an oil seal or something similar? Today when I picked up the car I was told that they had replaced the entire transfer box in a 4-5 hour job, total cost £2355. I had about 4 days to run on the original 3 year warranty!

Mine's not quite due it's 2nd service, but I'll certainly be getting it in for its MOT and health check before the warranty runs out next month. This is a useful reminder!
