Boot won't open

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a 2009 fabia.  The boot will not open when the boot switch is pressed. It makes no sounds.

The car does not have remote central locking.

Is there another way to open the boot lid.

Thank you

Put your back seat down (lift the cushion forward so the back rest comes down flat), you can also pop the parcel shelf up and remove to give you more room, then crawl into the boot with a torch. At the bottom of the lock there is a small silver lever at the bottom right (looking to back of car). Get your finger under this and push to the right, and the boot should release. You may need a large screwdriver for this if you have a weak pinky.

A new latch is just over £30 if thats the problem (check the fuses etc first) and its dead easy to change, you do need a beefy torx key however (get a cheap set from toolstation the long ones give you the leverage to undo)
