starting problems

Featured Replies

I have a 2015 TSI. Had to call the AA yesterday. The engine started then immediately stopped. Completely dead and no dash lights either, although other electrical things such as windows were working. The engineer checked fuses etc and could find no fault. He then tried disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery. The engine immediately started and everything was back to normal. I'll book the car in to be checked but I'm concerned that nothing will be found but that the fault will recur. Any ideas?

Did the person from the AA plug in and look at codes and save them?   & did they say anything about the Battery Connection possibly being loose?

Be sure not only that the Dealership deals with it, but puts a report to Skoda UK / CZ so that they and the AA learn from the issue,

and nobody is left wondering what has gone wrong.

Put on the Skoda System at the Dealership.

ECU Connections, Earth etc will all need checking.

PS

?

Have you required the Key Fob Batteries to be replaced yet?

Maybe need changed.

Surely if the battery connection was loose then the windows wouldn't work?

Loose can be like a Flattish battery.

With a flattish Battery you can maybe open the door, open the windows, switch on a lights, toot the horn, yet turn the key and maybe a click, maybe nothing, immobolized. Dead Parrot.

But usually there are some dash lights.

Simply Skoda are not usual though.

Surely you think about it, maybe dismiss it, and it is a red herring, but you look at the simple and free to check things first.

wrong topic, cant work out how to delete post, sorry!
