who makes skoda stereo's?

Featured Replies

does anone have any idea who manufactures the skoda stereos?

adam

My old tape player was a Grundig. Think "symphony" is the new one, although that could be a model, not a make....

Mk1 Octy radios as far as I know are all manufactured by Grundig who have now gone into receivership apparently.

The Stream & Audience radios in the OctyII are manufactured by Visteon in Portugal. Visteon is owned by Ford as far as I know.

I'm sure some earlier head units where sourced from Blaupunkt too.

can anyone confirm that blaupunkt made the skoda "symphony" radio's?

adam

The octavia symphony is made by Grundig, BUT has blaupunkt style connections on the back. The wiring connections are blaupunkt to, so you can get sub/pre-out cables from bluespot.co.uk it you want.

However you cannot plug a blaupunkt changer in as it doesnt work (I tried it). The oem changer is made by panasonic but can only be connected to VAG headunits.

The head units are supplied by a number of manufacturers all to a single specification.
